It started with a bad book.

My wife bought a devotional for women. It looked lovely. She read it for about a week before she started noticing things.

A verse quoted one way on Tuesday and a different way on Thursday. A reference pointing at a chapter that did not contain the words on the page. A quote attributed to a well-known author that, as far as either of us could find, she never said. And underneath all of it, the same handful of sentences rearranged for thirty days — the kind of writing that sounds encouraging and says nothing.

It was not written for her. It was assembled, quickly, to fill a listing. And she had paid for it.

I have written books with these tools for years. I knew exactly how that book got made — and exactly which step had been skipped.

That skipped step is the whole reason this shop exists. Not because the tools are wrong — they are not — but because using them without checking the work is how you end up selling someone a book of small lies about her own scripture.

What we promise instead

• Every verse is checked against the actual text, word for word, before it is printed, typeset or sold. Not from memory. Not from a machine. From the text.
• Every reference is verified — book, chapter and verse — against the words beside it.
• Nothing is quoted that cannot be found. If a line is attributed to someone, there is a real source for it. If we cannot find one, the line is cut rather than softened into “someone once said.”
• We use the World English Bible, which is in the public domain — so scripture is quoted freely and credited plainly, with no licensing games.
• Nothing ships because it filled a page. If a day of a devotional has nothing to say, it gets rewritten until it does, or it comes out.

Who makes it

One family. Not a publishing house, not a team, not a content operation. That means fewer products and slower releases than the shops you will find on a marketplace — and it means there is a person behind every line who can tell you where it came from.
